Why therapy?

Most people come to therapy because they want to feel better.  Some people feel sad all the time.  Others feel frustrated and struggle to control their anger.  Some people come to therapy for help with relationships -- intimate, family, friends, etc.  Some people feel consumed with anxiety and worry.  Some can’t concentrate, some cry too much or some can’t cry at all.  Some wonder why they’re working so hard to hold their lives and their families together.  Some people think their lives look great on paper -- decent job, friends, family -- but still feel empty.  And some people just come to talk.

I invite my clients to use three primary tools: honesty, curiosity and self-compassion. These are the master keys. If we have compassion for ourselves – even in our worst moments – we can unlock a generosity and dignity for ourselves and others that can truly shift how we live.

WILL it ACTUALLY HELP?

Therapy can help you feel better.  Therapy can help you understand your life a little differently. Therapy can help you understand why you do what you do and how you end up in the situations you're in.  You may begin to understand your life and its patterns in a deeper and richer way.
